Why choose an FDM printer?
FDM is the most widely used 3D printing technology, which is also the most affordable. It is often used to make prototypes and finished products for home and professional use. For FDM printers, the resolution of the final product depends on the size of the nozzle and the accuracy of the extruder on the axes, but of course, the accuracy of the model is also affected by other factors such as print settings, merging, layer weight, bending or deformation. Another advantage of FDM printers is that the model is 3D printed on a special plate from which it is easy to separate after the finished process. Some newer FDM printers already have magnetic and flexible plates where removal is even easier. With certain settings, the FDM printer can also produce support elements in addition to the final product. These can also be removed in the final treatment. The print size with an FDM printer is usually 235x235x250 mm, while larger printers up to 1000x1000x1000 mm are also used for industrial use. Additional parts and filaments for FDM printing are affordable, and printing is relatively fast, of course, depending on the capacity of the printer and the complexity of the model. A wide range of filaments of different colors and materials also contributes to their mass use.
