HIPS filaments

HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) is a dissolvable support filament. When printing objects with larger, sloping angles, support filaments provide support and prevent bad overhangs. It acts as a great support material because it is easily removed with Limonene solution, leaving the clean high-quality print that you want behind.

The best way to use HIPS is with ABS. HIPS is suitable for printing alongside ABS due to their similar strength and stiffness, and they both require similar printing temperatures. Note that limonene can damage other filament materials, making the ABS combination the best option.

Printing recommendations:

• For the best results, print at 220–250°C. 
• Recommended printing table temperature is 70–110°C. 
• Use a glass bed, PEI sheet, Kapton, or Blue tape for the build platform with 3Dlac spray.

*Ideal temperature may vary when using different printers.
