Automatic Filament Identification

Bambu Lab filaments come equipped with RFID tags, automatically recognized by the AMS, allowing for optimal settings for your chosen material. For seamless synchronization, RFID tags are automatically updated through Bambu Studio. Non-Bambu Lab filaments can be manually configured for use in Bambu Studio or on the printer.

Each Bambu Lab AMS unit offers four filament slots, and you can install up to four AMS units in parallel, supporting an astonishing 16 colors. Achieve vibrant, multi-color prints that stand out effortlessly by connecting four AMS units via the AMS hub.

*Note: Filaments that are excessively soft, brittle, or abrasive, such as Bambu PET-CF/TPU 95A, and other brands’ TPE, TPV, PVA, PET-CF/GF, PA-CF/GF, PAHT-CF/GF, etc., are not compatible with the AMS. If you prefer to use cardboard spools, we highly recommend using a spool adapter to reduce the risk of slippage and trapped debris in the AMS.
