Starry Surface Plate  

The Bambu Starry Surface plate imparts a stunning rainbow-like starry effect on your print’s first layer, which shimmers and shifts colours based on the viewing angle. This effect is especially striking when paired with silk or shiny filaments, enhancing the intricate pattern.

  • PEI+PEY Build Plate
  • Double-sided
  • Suitable for various filaments: PLA/TPU/PETG
  • PEI coating ensures good adhesion for printing above 260°C
  • The smooth PEY sheet has a pattern of stars and dots that will shine brightly. 
  • Different colours will appear at different angles. What’s more, different colours will be left on the printing model.

Diamond Surface Plate

The Bambu Diamond Surface plate creates a diamond-patterned first layer with a combination of glossy and matte finishes. It’s most effective with silk or shiny filaments, bringing out the full potential of the texture.

Carbon Fiber Surface Plate

The Bambu Carbon Fiber plate mimics the subtle texture of real carbon fiber. When applied, it transfers this pattern to the first layer of your print, producing a distinct 3D texture, particularly when using grey carbon filament.

  • The smooth surface of PEO film can make the model stick to the platform better
  • PET surface is resistant to high temperatures of 120℃, we suggest PLA filament only for this surface
  • PET presents a faux carbon fiber surface, offering a distinct visual appeal

Installation

The 3D effect PEI plates need to be manually applied to the steel plate; they do not come pre-installed. For optimal results, use only the official Bambu Lab steel plate. If applying the plate to an existing plate, ensure any old plate is completely removed, and the surface is thoroughly cleaned and dried. Follow the recommended heatbed settings carefully to ensure the best texture transfer. Keep in mind that a clean surface is crucial for maintaining the visibility of the 3D effects; grease can diminish the patterns. Clean with hot water and detergent, and avoid touching the surface directly.

Additional considerations 

Because the 3D effect PEI plates reflect light, LIDAR calibration may not function as expected. It’s advisable to skip the LIDAR calibration sequence or use a regular plate for calibration. Remember that these sheets are consumables, so to extend their lifespan, try to vary the placement of your prints on the sheet. Avoid applying glue to the sheet surface, and be cautious when using a scraper to prevent damage.

Recommended settings

For printing, we suggest using PLA or TPU filaments. Depending on your model and filament, you may need to adjust your slicer settings.
