Stepper Motors

Stepper motors power the controlled movement of X, Y and Z axes and are also commonly used in filament extrusion systems. If a motor is damaged or no longer provides reliable movement, a compatible replacement can restore printer operation. Match the motor by frame size, shaft dimensions, step angle, electrical requirements, connector and mounting pattern. More torque is not automatically better if the printer electronics are not designed for it. After replacement, check motion direction, current settings and calibration before running full prints.
