The Bambu Lab A1 Combo makes fast, automated and multi-color 3D printing accessible without overcomplicating the process. Its 256×256×256 mm build volume provides plenty of room for everyday models, prototypes, decorations and functional parts, while speeds of up to 500 mm/s keep projects moving. With the AMS lite included, you can automatically switch between four loaded filaments and bring multi-color designs to life straight out of the box.

Smart calibration, smooth extrusion and quieter printing

The A1 automatically calibrates Z-offset, bed leveling, vibration resonance and nozzle pressure before printing, reducing the amount of manual setup required. Its high-frequency eddy-current sensor continuously measures nozzle pressure for Active Flow Rate Compensation, helping maintain consistent extrusion through changing print speeds.

Active Motor Noise Cancelling compensates for individual motor characteristics to reduce mechanical noise, while the 1-clip quick-swap hotend makes nozzle changes simple. A built-in camera provides remote monitoring and timelapse recording, supported by filament runout, tangle and odometry sensors for more reliable everyday printing.

The A1 Combo is a great choice for beginners, hobbyists, designers, schools and makers looking for a fast and easy-to-use printer with automatic calibration and multi-color capability. Its open-frame design is particularly well suited to everyday PLA and PETG printing.

The A1 offers a 256×256×256 mm build volume, providing enough space for most everyday models, prototypes, decorations and functional parts while keeping the overall printer relatively compact.

PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA are officially rated as ideal materials for the A1. ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PET and fiber-reinforced materials are not recommended for general use because of the printer’s open-frame design. Smaller parts in some high-temperature materials may still be possible under suitable conditions, while abrasive CF or GF filaments require a hardened steel nozzle.

Yes. The A1 Combo includes one AMS lite with four filament positions and automatic filament switching for multi-color and compatible multi-material prints. The AMS lite does not include active filament drying.

With the included AMS lite, the A1 Combo can automatically print with up to four loaded colors or materials. Current A1 firmware also supports other AMS systems through the optional A1 AMS Hub, but AMS lite cannot be used at the same time as AMS, AMS 2 Pro or AMS HT.

Before printing, the A1 can automatically calibrate Z-offset, bed leveling, vibration resonance and nozzle pressure. This reduces manual setup and helps the printer adapt its motion and extrusion for more consistent results.

Bambu Lab does not recommend enclosing the A1. The printer’s electronics and thermal design are intended for open-frame operation, so adding an enclosure can expose components to temperatures they were not designed to handle.

Yes. The A1 includes a low-frame-rate camera with up to 1080p resolution for remote viewing and timelapse recording. It also monitors filament runout, tangling and filament movement and supports power-loss recovery. It does not have the advanced AI camera error-detection system found on higher-end Bambu Lab models.
