Unset PLA Silk

Unset PLA Silk is made from recycled high-quality PLA Silk material left over during production, giving it a second life instead of creating unnecessary waste. Each batch comes in a random color, so the final shade may vary, but the printing quality stays the same as our regular PLA Silk.

It combines easy PLA printing with a shiny, silky and slightly translucent surface finish. The silk effect helps soften visible layer lines and gives prints a more luxurious appearance. Ideal for creative projects where exact color choice is not the main priority.

02 HELPFUL REMINDERS

Tips & tricks

1. Slower visible walls improve gloss

Use lower outer-wall speed when shine matters most.

2. Keep temperature stable

Silk gloss changes with temperature swings; tune once and avoid large jumps.

3. Defining the shine level

For maximum silk shine, print outer walls at 60 mm/s. Inner walls and infill can print up to ≤ 250 mm/s.

4. Dry gently before printing

Dry at 45 °C for 4 h and store sealed.

5. Choose a smooth bed surface

PEI, glass, Kapton, or blue tape can all work when clean.

6. Recommended print speed

Use 60 mm/s outer walls for maximum shine and ≤ 250 mm/s for inner walls and infill. Max Printing Speed is the tested ceiling.
